She lacks other basic needs, and if given school fees, she is such a bright girl.

Leticia has never been to school although she is ready because her poor mother can not afford to pay her school fees.
She lacks other basic necessities.

Davis is a joyful young boy who stays with her grandmother in a grass thatched house. They survive on subsistence crop growing and selling fruits in the nearby market on Fridays.
Davis goes to school, he is in primary 3 but often misses because the grand mother cannot afford to pay his school fees on time.
He lacks other necessities like clothes and beddings. He sleeps on a mat made out of banana fibers and covers himself with his grandmothers old cloths.

Florence is a bright young girl who stays with her widowed mother in a mud and old iron roof leaking house together with her six siblings. They grow sweet potatoes, maize and beans on a subsistence basis for survival.
She goes to a distant primary school in primary three but she is always sent back home for school fees because her widowed mother cannot afford to pay on time.
The mother is also weak with sickness and cannot work as she used to do. The children lacks other necessities and sleep on banana fiber mats which their mother taught them to make and cover themselves with their mother’s old cloths.

She sleeps on a banana fiber mat made by her grandmother and covers herself with her late mother’s old gomesi (cloths). The grand mother survives on growing sweet potatoes, cassava, and millet and tills other people’s garden to get money which she uses to buy some basic needs.
She has never gone to school but her age is ready.

Irene is a happy girl who lost her father at around 7 years. The mother, because of having no formal job failed to look after her and dropped her at her grand mother with whom she stays now.
The grand mother is also a poor old lady who is now week because of age and only survives on donations from her other children.
Irene’s aunt took her to school but stopped paying her school fees last year because she lost her job.
Irene wishes to go back to school and continue with her Primary four studies.

John stays with her grand mother since the death of his father in 2016. The y sleep is a mud and grass thatched house together with six other relatives. They sleep on banana fiber mats which the grand mother makes and covers themselves with old blankets left by the father.
He tried to go back to school after the death of his father but when he was sent home for school fees, the grand told him to stop. He went back last year but did not sit his end of year exams due to lack of exam fees.
The grandmother thinks John will not go back to school this year because she cannot afford the payments.

The grand mother said that, she feels sorry for her daughter but she has no money to  help her  to continue with studies.

David is a jolly young boys who stays with his mother and his two other siblings in a leaking house. The mother persists with her children on subsistence crop growing and selling mangoes to the nearby market during their season.
He goes to a distant primary school walking and he is often sent back home to collect school fees which the mother can not afford to pay on time.
He is in a quite miserable condition and sleeps on an old banana fiber mat.
He enjoys playing the locally made soccer and dancing with his friends.

The grandmother survives on subsistence crop growing which they use as food and sells some to buy family necessities like salt.
Suleiman sleeps on an old mat given to him by his grandmother and covers himself with the grandmother’s kikubiro (old gomesi). He lacks other basic necessities.

Ruth a very happy young girl who lost her father at around 8 years. She now stays with her mother in their single room given to them by a village good Samaritan.
Her mother tills the neighbors’ gardens for money she uses to buy food and other basic necessities. They sleep on grass covered in old clothes.
She is a good netballer, and likes playing with friends at school. She is in primary three but missed end of last year exams because her poor mother failed to pay school dues. She does not know what lies a head of her daughter’s education this year.

Immaculate is a jolly bright girl that stays with her grand mother after the dead of her father. her mother died earlier on the day she was born.
The grand mother survives on selling local liquor in the community which uses to buy them food and other basic needs.
She has never been to school. She enjoys laughing, playing hide and seek and ball games with the friends. She also enjoys jumping and simple ring.
She sleeps with her grandmother on the same bed made out of papyrus and meadow.
